Major characteristics:It is an approved major of theNational Engineering Education Professional Certification, as well as a demonstration project of "provincial first-class major". Based on the west coast of the Taiwan Strait, this major aims at cultivating high-quality and the next generation engineers with innovative spirit in the fields of intelligent monitoring and control technology, industrial robots and marine electromechanical equipment. The major owns a batch of first-class provincial and ministerial level teaching and scientific research platforms, such asthe embedded system development laboratory,the machine vision laboratory, the intelligent robot laboratory and the provincial key laboratory of marine renewable energy equipment. It adheres to the "student-centered" teaching philosophy and strengthens the cultivation of students' engineering application ability in practical teaching. Students have achieved excellent results in various subject contests, such as the National Mechanical Design Contest, the National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest and the National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest. The major has the accurate professional positioning and the distinctive characteristics, and its talent training quality has been steadily improved. The employment rate and the postgraduate entrance examination rate of students in this major rank top in the University. Training objectives:
l To cultivate socialist builders and successors featuring an all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique, art and labor education;
l To train students to adapt to the development needs of the mechanical and electronic engineering industry and to have good humanities, professional ethics, team spirit, social responsibility and international vision;
l To cultivate innovative and applied talents, who have the solid natural science knowledge and the professional theories in the field of electromechanical engineering, and could engage in the design, manufacturing, research works of the electromechanical products including their measurement systems and control systems.
